Beauty's in the Eye of the Tree-Holder: A People's Catalog of Ann Arbor's Trees
In celebration of Ann Arbor’s bicentennial, I was commissioned to create a work for the A200 year-long festivities. The result was Beauty’s in the Eye of the Tree-Holder: A People’s Catalog of Ann Arbor’s Trees, a community-driven project inviting residents to share their favorite trees within the city limits and the stories behind them. Each submission was paired with a painting by artist Jenny Kalejs, culminating in a published book. Click here to explore the digital edition.

Grandpa Cai and His Garden
I wrote Grandpa Cai and His Garden, a bilingual English–Chinese picture book about a grandfather and his faithful dog, who tend a vegetable garden and use its harvest to prepare a special dinner for his visiting grandchildren. The story celebrates the importance of nature, family, and shared meals. This work was published by Fifth Avenue Press. Click here to learn more or click here to purchase.

Rory's Rocky Road
I co-wrote Rory’s Rocky Road, a children’s book about a cloud-dwelling raindrop who sets out to visit his best friend, Parker Pebble, in Quarry Village—only to get lost after leaving Grand Precipitation Station. Along the way, Rory meets the residents of a neighboring forest, who help him find his way before nightfall. The book will be published in Spring 2026.
